Method of Application:
Surface Cleaning:

• For Pre-Polished Wood: Remove all existing coatings by sanding or scraping
• For New Wood: Wooden surfaces to be sanded by using emery paper No.180 followed by 320. Clean the surface free of dust particles by wiping off.
• If necessary, remove dust and grease using a cloth soaked in Surfa D13 N.C thinner or equivalent.
• Under Coat:  To fill minor pores, apply Surfa N.C Wood filler using a putty knife or muslin cloth and remove excess coating. Sand the coat after 1 hour with emery paper No.240 and wipe clean.
• To Seal the surface: Thin Surfa N.C Sanding Sealer with 100 parts of Surfa D13 N.C thinner for padding or 150 parts for spray. Permit 1 hour interval between successive coats. Use emery paper 240/320 to scrub leftover coats. Apply minimum 2 coats for better sealing.
• Top Coat: For Top coat, use one of the following products Surfa 1K Acrylic Clear Matt/glossy or Surfa NC Cabinet Clear or Surfa Wood Shield- Glossy (PU based).

 

Apply the products strictly as per following directions:

• For Surfa 1K Acrylic Clear Matt on filled wood: Apply 3 coats of Matt. For Surfa 1K Acrylic Clear Glossy use 2 coats of Matt and 2 coats of Glossy. To dilute Surfa 1K Acrylic Clear use 40-50 parts of Surfa NC Thinner SP 58.
• For Surfa N C Cabinet Clear Glossy/Matt: Thin with 50 parts of Surfa N C Thinner SP50. Apply minimum 2 coats by spray for better result. Further coats can be applied, if more gloss is required. Allow minimum 2 hours interval between successive coats. Use emery paper No 400/600 between coats.
• For Surfa Wood Shield Interior Glossy (PU Based): Thin with for brushing add 10% of Thinner  14 or Enamel Thinner 600 and mix well. For spraying add 20% of Thinner 14 or Enamel Thinner 600 and mix well. Apply 2 coats of thinned Wood Shield Interior Glossy by brush or spray allowing 12 hours drying time between coats.

• Surfa Wood Primer is based on a special synthetic resin medium. Easy to apply, this primer affords temporary protection to wood work against weather, gives excellent adhesion and serves as a good base for the application of under coat and finishing coats.

Recommended for:

• Priming of all softwood both interior and exterior

Colour Thinning Directions for Use:

• Available in White and Pink colours, Add approximately 10% GP Thinner for viscosity adjustment.

Surface preparation:

• Ensure that surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and rendered free from dust, dirt, grease etc.

New wood work:

• Sand the surface and dust off.

This is a higher solid formulation hence a single coat application over sealer is adequate for low grain profile substrate. On full cure the product forms a very hard & flexible film with chemical resistance & mechanical properties including mar/scratch resistance ensuring a long-term protection of wood.

Based on a synthetic medium in which selected red oxide pigment is added to give the traditional red oxide colour. Product Details:

It is an exterior quality long life polyurethane lacquer based on acrylic polyol & aliphatic isocyanine hardener. The product is highly resistant to physical & chemical environments weathering in conforming with DIN 68861  I B. Presence of aliphatic isocyanate, UV inhibitor & special biocides make the product, non-yellow, non chalking resistant to micro organisms. Wood Rich 2 Pack PU Exterior polyurethane is available in lacquer (gloss/matt) form.
