Surfa Nova

• Surfa Nova is an advanced European Textured Coating system which is the ultimate in decorative protection offered to you by Surfa Coats, the pioneers in textured coatings. Conventional paint systems like emulsions, distempers and Tex Matt paints though decorative in nature, have limited protective qualities, due to their compositions and very low film thickness. The concept of decorative protection today is met by polymer based coatings that "breathe" i.e., they let moisture out of the substrate, and are yet water resistant.

Product

• An acrylic based decorative textured coating for exteriors and interiors, applied by trowel. It forms recessed textures, curved or linear, in different directions controlled by the trowel movement. Depending on the groove depth required, it is available in fine and coarse textures.

Composition

• Precisely graded fillers of quartz, dolomite and inorganic pigments in a co-polymer emulsion with special additives

Areas of use

• It is primarily designed for use on exterior facades of residential, commercial and office complexes. It is suitable for direct applications on almost all surfaces sand faced plaster, wood and plywood and also on interiors.

Special properties

• Easy to apply - non sticky
• Good adhesion to the substrate (adequate tensile strength)
• Impermeable to water and chlorides. Low water absorption and good water repellency (i.e. low water absorption co-efficient)
• Flexible, able to bridge hairline cracks.
• Good weather resistance.
• Good drying characteristics (good water-vapour permeability low Sd value)
• Low susceptibility to cracking (good relaxation properties elastomeric)
• Added non leaching wide spectrum of algae and fungi biocides to protect the dry film.
• Reduces capillary water transport.
• Good flexural and compressive strength
• Increases the resistance towards frost/thaw cycles.
